V50 D4 engine AIR CON
Does anyone know where i could get a wiring diagram of the air conditioning system on the D4 engine. My compressor clutch isn't engaging but i don't know yet if it's the actual clutch that has the problem yet as there is no voltage from the wire that connects to the compressor despite a healthy 12.5v at the fuse.
The system is charged up to 100psi so i'd like to find where the wiring goes to after it leaves the fuse box? Last edited by Larkaround; Jul 26th, 2016 at 19:44. Reason: Punctuation |

Yes please! Having very similar issue with my 11Reg D3. It has been tested for leaks and regassed. Found a relay in under bonnet fuse box that appears to control the compressor clutch and if the contacts are bypassed the compressor runs. Tried swopping it with another relay with no joy so want to find where the signal for the relay comes from, also what sensors the A/C looks at to determine whether the A/C should run or not. Hope that makes sense!

I was wondering if i should run a 12volt feed straight from the battery to the compressor just to see if it kicks in but i don't want to fry any contacts or the like if the feed shouldn't be 12v . a wiring diagram would be the answer i think but the haynes manual doesn't have one for the AC .. thought perhaps someone on here would have one.

Wow !! Thanks . This will keep me in reading for a while.. Incidentally you don't happen to have a workshop manual in PDF form for the D4 engine too do you, The haynes manual isn't very comprehensive unfortunately !

Yea, it's a bit heavy going! I don't have a manual. Quite a few folks on here use genuine or otherwise (with some problems) VIDA/DICE software which I believe contains an 'electronic' manual. A search should provide some info. Ebay seems to be a source....
