Default Channel 4 programme - Bangers: Mad For Cars

Who's fine example of a red 850R was featured on the programme? Anyone from here?

I think the shows are aired on Wednesday evenings on digital, but I watched the first episode with the 850R via Channel 4's catch up.

I saw that and just beamed at wifey when the 850R rolled up

Its a silly series but nice to see some of the classics being appreciated - but I object to them being called 'bangers' !!!

I noticed that the tailgate interior trim had been removed on that 850R. I wonder if the producers didn't want to hear the rattle during filming

I agree calling folks cherished motor cars 'bangers' isn't very respectful or diplomatic. However, it wouldn't impact on the available cars as there is an unlimited supply of desperate folks who will.do anything to have their 15 minutes of fame on TV. No matter how humiliating it is.

I find that completely disrespectful, myself and my wife are neither desperate for our 15 mins of fame for having our car used on a TV program, am i desperate to have it featured on the VOC stand at various events at the NEC?and featured in Top Gear magazine last year?

They asked for a car, we put ours forward. It was chosen buy Naomi as she grew up with an 850 in the family but they never could afford an R.

I am unsure why it was humiliating to have our car featured, i didn't like the program either to be honest so what?!

I felt super proud our car was on national TV no matter what.

I noticed ( I think ) a Strathmore Volvo badge which was the same dealership my 940 came from

Hi mate yes you are correct that’s the original dealership!

We have had the 850 a mere 14 years, a long and expensive 14 years but it’s not off where it needs to be, will never be finished but are any of our cars! I have a track day booked next month for the 850, so no garage queen. Do you still have your 940?
