Default How do I reset Airbag Light

On my XC90 2006 Diesel, I accidentally disconnected one of the front sensors and turned the ignition on, and (of course) got the Airbag warning light and error message in the display.

But after reconnecting the sensor, the message/warning light will not go off, even the “fault” has been “fixed” by reconnecting the sensor.

So my question is then: Should the message / Warning light go out by itself when the error condition has been fixed or does it need to be reset?
If the latter, can I do this myself by using a ODBII ELM interface with a suitable software or do I have to surrender and go to a dealer?

Does it have a message in the DIM relating to the air-bag or is it just the air-bag light that is still on?

The air-bag light only can probably be done with a generic code reader that is capable of clearing air-bag codes but anything relating to the DIM will need the use of VIDA/DICE. The options are, go to a main dealer and get them to clear the codes, mine quoted me £97 just to do this.

Or if you can wait, buy a VIDE/DICE from eBay for £170 (or whatever they now are) and consider it an investment for the next time something happens. Two uses and it's paid for itself. Not strictly legal though as it's a knock off version, but I understand they work like the genuine version.

Thank you for your answers.
Yes, I have the DIM message also.
And yes, it’s a lot of listings of VIDA/DICE at ebay and they all look suspecting similar even some claims that its from UK and other from Hong Kong etc. and the prices seems to be around £120-160 + shipping. So I guess I will end up buying one of these. I also have a 2001 S80, can I use it on this car too?

But before buying, I would like to know if its possible to use other hardware than what’s included in this kit. Reason for asking is that I already have a ODB II interface hardware which works fine with free diagnostic software applications. It is a ELM327 Ver 1.5a with USB interface. Can I just buy the software (VIDA or similar) that allows me to do the same as the VIDA/DICE kit? Anyone tried this?

Red face Using VIDA DICE to reset SRS

OK, I have got the VIDA DICE installed and up and running and I can talk to car (see status of all the boxes, test switches and lights etc.), but strugle to find out how to reset the SRS warning light and the message in the DIM.
Anyone that has used VIDA / DICE alot that can guide me in the right direction?
