Default V70 Tdi W reg

2000 W reg V70 Tdi dark blue. 208k. Owned and serviced by me since 2003. This is one of the last P1's made and has winter pack, wood dash, grey leather seats, roof bars, spotlights. SC805 CD audio with aux input (modification).

Cambelt with tensioners, crank seal and w/pump was changed by MRG (Chippenham) at 153k. Fuel pump changed recently for lower mileage one although original works (will include). Michelin Energy tyres all with about 4mm. Tax/ MOT both end of July. Service history since 2003.

All discs changed at 190k. Front O/S bearing (OE) replaced at 190k. MAF was replaced 140k. ECC has had extensive work done over the years (inc compressor) and was re-gassed last spring. New battery in Feb 2011.

Have used Castrol Magnatec semi-synth since owned. Clay-barred and polished twice yearly.

Car runs well, minor scratches, what you'd expect on a 12 year old car. £1195.

(Note that I do have the engine cover)

Looks a smart car. What's the timing belt interval for these diesels?

It's just about the ideal spec in my eyes, apart from maybe a saffy V70R manual with a spare wheel lpg tank, so the best in the real world!

Best of luck with the sale, it'll sell a lot quicker than I'd ever be able to pass my C70 on...

Default Clutch

Hello, could you tell me if its still on original clutch and if you've ever changed the gearbox oil? Why are you selling it?

Thanks

Original clutch (seems OK to me) and original g/box oil but changes smoothly. Note it has been driven sensibly and carefully since I've owned it and feels good still. I'm getting a P2 V70 although, in some ways, I'm reluctant to let the tdi go but I can't keep both of them. Regards.

Will put on trade-it / ebay next week. Pity, I'd have liked it to go to a forum member. The P1 V70 Tdi may be the best-built diesel Volvo have made, certainly the most economical with 50 mpg possible. The Audi engine is noisier than the later common-rail but much simpler, with mechanical injectors. I'd trust it to a much higher mileage than a common rail diesel. Sure, things could go wrong but I'm not asking 5 or 6 thousand for it. Minimal depreciation. And 195 width 15" tyres are cheaper than these fancy looking wide low-profile 17" ones. Regards.
