V40: reading SRS fault codes
Youmitegetian very kindly tried to read the SRS fault code(s) on OH's 2004 V40 TD today but his VIDA/DICE said it couldn't connect.
Does the driver's seat belt have to be plugged in first? Ta muchly, Bob. |

See the difference between better clones and the new DICE What exactly is the problem with the SRS? Did you unplug something, or did the SRS just came up?

not much use, but for whatever reason Vadis and Vida both struggle with the S/V40's they can't automatically pick up engine/chassis number or lots of the configuration compared to say the P2 V70/S60's and reading car takes an age compared to the volvo P2 cars.
The BSR PPC just doesn't communicate at all with them, which is why I sold my in preference to VIDA/Dice I have XP running as a virtual machine within windows 8, and have disabled internet connection on XP, so it can't try and update Last edited by cookie; Oct 12th, 2013 at 16:22. |

The problem with the EU702 is that while it will reset the SRS module, it will not read the ECU codes on the 1.9D. Also, the EU702 cannot detect if the SRS control unit is faulty (the dreaded SRS-0001 fault code), which the DICE will. Been there, done that..... I am personally going to order yet another DICE, http://www.go2obd.com/volvo-vida-dic...-good-815.html . I have spoken to the seller and he assured me that it will be ok........ The way to reset my own SRS, was to remove the SRS unit and plug it on my T4 where I reset the codes and then plugged it back to my car. Every time I plugged/unplugged the SRS unit, I made sure the battery was disconnected

Dice
Hi All,
I've a Dice unit that can do a selftest and update Firmware. It also let me erase SRS fault codes but it won't read my ECM Module. It stays red on the network tab in Vida. @Gatos, is this what you mean with the new dice units won't read the ecu? Is the ECU the same as the ECM? I have a Volvo V40 1.9d 2004. |
