Default Stolen Volvo 240. SE London. H447 UYA 12/10/13. Gutted...

Hi all,
My beloved Volvo 240 GL, White estate, Auto, H447 UYA was stolen in broad daylight today the 12th of Oct between 1pm and 8pm outside my house in Herne Hill south London.
It's pretty distinctive as it has white wall tyres and chrome wheel trim.
If its gone to the banger track I hope it crumples.
Absolutely gutted.
To top it off my gprs/gps tracker is waiting for me in the post office....

Obviously if anyone sees it or gets offered anything can you message me. I fitted a drivers armrest and a US voltmeter into it too.
Any scrappys....I'll match the price!
The thing was mint.
Gutted.

Reward gladly given

I don't really know what to say, anything I do say isn't going to make it better but i'll be certain to keep an eye out for it.

Maybe try signing up to Ovalchat the banger forum, they can't all be bad eggs if indeed it was the bangerboys that took it in the 1st place, got to be worth a try.

You're right, I know most are sound, have known a couple myself. But i have been warned so much in the last few weeks about this happening.
It's why I bought the tracker....
Copper told me another 240 within a mile from mine went 3 weeks ago. 30 years, one owner, full history.
Garage down the road told me almost ten they know of have gone in the lat 2 years. Including the garage owners.
Signing up to ovalchat now. Here's hoping.
Thanks

Terrible. I really hope you get it back.

Make sure the Police know about all that info about 240s being stolen, banger racers, etc.

Thanks all. Still looking...
Got a couple more scrapyards to visit and double check with the council that they haven't been idiots.

I'm keeping my eye out as I travel around South London with work.

Also told my friend to put his 244turbo on the drive locked behind gates than keep it parked on the road.

He's also keeping eyes peeled as he would notice any 240

Done all I can. Spoke to another Volvo garage in west Norwood and he said they have been disappearing like mad in the last year. One guy even just popped to get a pint of milk, comes out and his 240 was gone. The mechanic is convinced they are being exported. I know people can ship cars to Africa and sell them for 3 times the uk value plus the shipping fee. But I still find it hard to believe.[br]I know it's a hot topic on these forums and from just browsing through the previous threads I don't want to start another free for all slanging match but I have just noticed it's the World Banger racing finals this weekend coming...no ones gonna convince me it's not (if only part of it) gonna be there. [br]I can't believe that with at least ten of the same model been stolen in a three mile radius no one has thought it should be looked into. Bollocks

I have put a copy of your original post on my Facebook page and asked my English friends to share. Hopefully if we all do this it might help?

I will keep my eyes out around SE London, I might invest in a tracker too!
