S60 Boot Plastic clips?
I have noticed today putting shopping in the boot of my S60 that it appears the plastic surround (not sure what you call it) is falling off!!
Its the plastic faring that is clipped to the metal boot lid, the thing the number plate is attached to etc It seems to have been held on by pop clips that I can see, and they are all broken! If i pull up on it via the boot release sensor thing it lifts off a bit and I had to push on back down Is it just these clips that holds it on? If so I am going to need to get some quickly before the whole bloody thing falls off and ends up getting dragged behind the car via the lighting wires I saw! |

I posted this on another forum a while back:
... remove the carpet from inside the boot lid, this reveals a Locking Pin which needs to be pulled out: Once this locking tab/pin has been removed, you need to push the trim with some force to the left (or right lol) to get the remaining 10 clips to release. There's a loom connector you need to release - boot opener button?? & number plate lights?? You should end up with something looking like this.... Hope this helps |

Thats fantastic!
All I need to do is get replacement pop clips then! Is fitting it back together just a case of removing all the broken clips and replacing them on the plastic part before pushing it back together with the metal? |

Just to say that if anyone else notices that their boot panel is loose on their S60 PLEASE GET IT FIXED!!
I was planning on doing it this weekend but ended up having it get blown off on the motorway yesterday! Whole bloody lot came off! Have had to source a salvage panel and get it resprayed plus order a replacement numberplate! Moral of the story - GET THINGS FIXED! lol |

Plasic boot clips..
Not looking what I was doing today, in a woodland - reversed into a tree.. Could not see any obvious damage despite horrendous crash.. Later found several broken plasic washers... and loose trim panel as in previous post.
Question is does anyone know where to get the correct part / part number / description.. or do I assume any volvo parts dept will nod, smile and offer me the offending item :-) |

Hello, See if there's a body shop supplier near you.
We're blessed to have one in Hackensack. Alas that's 3,500 miles from Eastern England. Kira |

Plastic boot panel woes
Thanks for advice in forum. I obtained clips at £1-40 each from Volvo dealer in Norwich..
Some confusion in removal process though - I followed the guidance in photos above and found that my car has not got any securing clips inside the bootlid. I tried in vain to twist/pull/push the pillars noted in preceding instructions and eventually gave up.. I literally just pushed the panel towrds the nearside and it moved about 20 mm and started lifting away. With a little jiggling it just lifted off and I was able to replace the 6 broken plasic clips. Then I just aligned the panel and with assistance holding it in place pushed the panel towards offside and that was it - job done. I did discover once panel was removed that the pillars are threaded to accept screws to secure the number plate and did not affect the removal of the plasic panel. I am very grateful for the advice which was invaluable.. Thanks. |
