VOL-FCR issues - interface error check connections
Anyone able to advise on using VOL-FCR on a 96 850 TDi?
I've installed both the trial version from ilexa and a cracked version from a torrent but I can get neither to connect. "interface error check connections" is as far as I can get when I try and get codes from it. Already changed the Port to 1, and I'm using a USB cable from my old P38a Range Rover which seems to also be an FTDI type. Any ideas? |

Vol FCR
There are 3 different versions of VOL FCR. Only one will work with usb. Don't use copied versions. They never work. You also need the correct usb cable for it to work. Your better buying the full things from Ilexia as you will be given the interface and cable.
Regards Stuart

The cable for the P38 is unlikely to work. You need a cable like the VAGCOM USB interface for the drivers to work. The web-site link for the VOL_FCR gives a few examples. As a general guide, nothing Rover/Landrover is compatible with much else for the 1990's !!

I'll have a scratch around and see - if the Ilexia software will work with a VAUX_COM USB lead, then there are loads of dodgy OP_COM leads (that do little else than corrupt everything) on a certain auction site - all for very little money. You will definitely need the pukka Ilexia software to stand any chance on this, but I guess you could prove the point out with the trial version. I have a spare OP_COM set-up in my own workshop (I use the Ilexia VAUX_COM for any GM's these days) which may be going cheap......

Mine has been working fine with the above cable but just today when looking at live data after 30 seconds I lose connection?? It will reconnect no problem and then 30 sec later loses it again.
Any ideas

Ok, some progress!!
Got the lead now, and it's all working.... now to work out what it all means and how to sort it. First reading showed this up in the 'AW 50-42TDi' section... Then after a reset these all cleared. Still not showing up after a 5 minute drive. The MSA 15.7 section showed this: (This one won't go away when the code is cleared). The ABS section showed this: And then this after a reset: The immobiliser section shows this: (and it won't go away) I've now still got the lambda light and ABS light illuminated. Mainly wanting to get to the bottom of the lambda light. Anyone got any clues of similar experiences with these problems? |
