Default BCM-0133 anyone had this?

as above, anti skid service required, vida says:
BCM-0133 brake pressure sensor 2 too low

Just ordered a couple of sensors hoping this will fix, any tips for replacing?

Cheers

NO!!! Cancel the order! I have a spare one...

I had this same fault recently and sorted it.

Those sensors are extremely expensive - £250 each and you don't need 2.
The fault reader there has identified it is sensor number 2. The reader also will give another reading that says 1 & 2 outside of the range; that is because there is a difference between the readings given from the 2 sensors.

I bought 2 second hand sensors because I didn't know which one of the 2 was wrong - how could I tell which one was faulty?!?! However, I changed one of them and it put the code out, so by luck - 50% chance of getting it right - I changed the busted one first. Unlike yours, mine said BCM - 0130 Brake pressure sensor 1.

This will be useful to you: Brake pressure sensor 1 is the one on the left. I would say that you only need to change sensor 2.

Hope that saves you a couple hundred quid!!

I'll photo it to make more sense to you..

Also, I notice there's a V70 in Combellack Breakers just down the road from you!

Attached are the photos. The first one is me pointing at pressure sensor 1, so I would recomend you change the other sensor first. The other photo is just to show where the 2 sensors are located.

You need a deep 27mm socket for the job.

As it happens, this type of pressure switch has never been kind to me: it's this type of switch that acivates the brake lights on an Amazon and I've had that many fail on me that I carry a spare and regularly chack my brake lights. However, they're about £13 not £250!

Thanks so much, I ordered 2 from Huddersfield breakers so 50 for both. Do you have a picture of where they are? Are they easy to change? Also it had a few codes but I cleared them all and thats what came back? I keep reading stories of having to change the whole bcm but hopefully this will fix it...

No - on the C30, S40 and V50 the sensors are an integral part of the BCM and they appear to go wrong resulting in many owners getting a whole new BCM at many ££'s. On our cars, as you can see from my photos they're just part of the metal brake lines.

They're not easy to change in that you have to do a bit of gymnastics to get into the little space below. You could undo the whole union from the pipe and lose a whole load of fluid in the process, but tyou can do it with the deep 27mm socket.

Code doesn't need to be reset after: it's one of those messages that comes up if it's not working but goes away when it's OK. That's why the message is not always there. However, with a code reader you can also check the pressures of both sensors.

If it's a job you don't fancy and don't mind a trip up to Exeter, please get in touch. Otherwise I go down to Blackwater once a month.

Your a star, just bought a 27mm deep socket. More than happy to have a crack, got quite good with mechanics (currently building a 850 t5 with a gt30 ) just like to learn as much before doing a job so I don't get any nasty surprises.

Thanks so much for your help, glad they are separate sensors on the s60 though.

Update, fitted a new 2nd hand sensor, codes came up with communication and sas errors which is odd as they weren't there before, anyway the pressure sensor error has gone so took it for a drive and it seemed to clear, plugged in vida and cleared everything again, nothing has come back so I think because I left the ignition on while unplugging the sensor it caused these communication errors. Looks like jobs done though...
