Can rear seatbelts be fitted on 1966 Amazon 222 Estate
Hi, I've fallen for the Amazon Estate but before buying one I'd like to know if it's possible to fit rear seatbelts as I've my neice and nephews safety to consider before a final purchase ? Any information is much appreciated.

Rear seat belts...
Hi there,
Yes, the estate came with seat belt mounts allready fitted under the rear seat as standard. I just happen to be finishing off a restoration of an Amazon estate and will be selling it in due course. Give me a ring if you'd like more info. Gordon (0116 289 1401) |

I have fitted rear seat belts in three amazons now and found that up to 1969 the bottom side mounting is missing on all saloon and estate cars. Only the very last amazons had the mounting thread fitted on the lower mounting.
Also I had to put a mounting point on the rear wheel arch on the estate as well, located in the boot with a reinforcing plate behind.

Can I ask what belts you used, I'm wanting to do this with inertia reels. Would prefer to have something in keeping with the fronts appearance-wise. I've looked at Securons & others & they look a bit 'new',

I usualy get my rear belts out of cars from the scrap yard. You could always drag them through mud to age them a little. (joking guys).

Paul, the lower mounting point on earlier amazons had not been fitted at the factory. Your estate must have been towards the end of production. On a 1966 amazon estate it is missing unless someone has had it fitted.
