......the comfort ride type are the Nivomats....if you lift up your bonnet and look at the Vehicle Identification Plate at the centre of the bulkhead....follow the diagram below and you will see that where the red line ends on the plate there will be sets of numbers...you want the third set from the right which as an example it says 1A....look at whats printed below and it will tell you if you have Nivomat or W/O Nivomat, the part No. is on the left and the marked code on the right......So if you have on the plate 3C then you have part No.30616683 W/O Nivomat.....These are for all 2001

Nivomat
30616715 marked 1F,2F,1D,2D
306167716 marked 1E,2E

W/O Nivomat
30618110 marked 1A,2A,3A,4A
30618111 marked 1B,2B,3B
30616683 marked 1C,2C,3C
30623887 marked 1B,2B,3B

....

Oh and you can use the old springs and strut tops, or should i say you need to. The spring, strut top and strut itself are all separate.

I have just done a how to for removing and replacing the rear struts but haven't been able to get the pictures reduced yet. When i do ill post them

there is a nivomat option on the comfort, but it is not very common.
if you look at the spring code as stated;

for a V40: position 4+5

sports nivomat=2E
dynamic nivomat=2F
comfort nivomat=2D

non nivomats
position 5
A= comfort
B= dynamic

I Just sent off for Two Shockers for my 51 Plate for about £79 They are Meyle shockers with the numbers 526 725 0006 ----09 F 15 and when I Pressed the Rod down to the Bottom it takes about 20 seconds for the Rod to reach to the Top Will this Give me a softer ride when I hit a Pot Hole: just at the Moment When I hit the Damn things I feel as though the Base of my spine has been hit with a sledge hammer Just at this Moment if I Hit a corner at not so great a speed I can feel the Back end Slide from side to side
