Default Volvo 740 carburetor vacuum hose routing

Hi

I disconnected vacuums from my carburetor and did a big mistake - didnt label them before removing. Now I have reconnected them, but some of them are definately wrong because engine doesnt work properly.. I searched this forum and found only 2 pictures which give a little help checking the connections. Therefore I want to ask if theres any more pictures or vacuum diagrams available? Saw a very nice vacuum diagram for 200 series, but I havent found any of them for 700 series..
I know that its a 1989 Volvo 740 with Pierburg carburetor. So I came to a conclusion that it should have B230K engine and 2B7 carburetor(correct me if im wrong).
I would really appreciate your help. Pictures/diagrams would be the best, so I could print them and take them to garage.

I should be able to help with this. I'll have a look through my manuals later and send you some diagrams.

I had these files on my computer. It is possible that your car won't have all of these hoses if it doesn't have air conditioning, EGR etc. The words are in German but the second file has english translations.

Ask if you require any further help and I'll try to help if I can.

Hate to bring up old posts, but I'm not allowed to PM the right person until I have 30 posts. So this is my only chance.
Is there any chance to re-up the pictures of the vacuum diagram?

Have a look at this website (in German): http://www.ruddies-berlin.de/index2.htm

If you need an English diagram then I think I might have one I could scan in.

Here is a pic from the website...

Dear Mr. OldBlueVolvo,

Could you send the english diagram to me, please? And could you tell me where is the AC/auto transmission ildling compensation relay, and how is it look like, please? It doesn't works in my 740. Thanks a lot!

On the diagram:-

  1. Carburettor
  2. Secondary throttle diaphragm
  3. Fuel cut-off valve
  4. Choke pull-down diaphragm
  5. Vacuum reservoir
  6. Idle advance valve
  7. Non-return valve
  8. EGR valve (if applicable)
  9. Pipe leading to ECU.
  10. Switchover valve
  11. EGR amplifier (if applicable)
  12. Switchover valve
  13. Thermal valve
  14. Air plenum
Colour coding for hoses:-
A - White
B - Brown
C - Red
D - Green
E - Lilac
F - Yellow
G - Grey
H - Blue
J - Orange

The diagram is for a 2B7. The 2B5 is slightly different.

Hello bonecrusher, I'm not familiar with the carb equipped auto cars so I don't know about the relay, but it might be next to the power steering fluid reservoir? You can test the idle advance valve by connecting it to vacuum. I think the idle speed should then rise to something like 1500rpm.

Do you have w diagram, that shows electrical cables on the pierburg?
I had to convert solex cisac (volvo 244 86') to pierburg form a 7 series, and the engine starts, but the wireing is a mess.
Vacume lines i will hopefully plug today, but i have about 3-4 wires, that i don;t know where to plug.
Plus, can i shut off the water "thing" on the carb?
