gdi engines

Does anyone know what the difference is between the B4184SM and the B4184SJ gdi engines are,,and will they both fit the same,,all i know is ones from v40 and the others on my s40 ??

Does anyone know what the difference is between the B4184SM and the B4184SJ gdi engines are,,and will they both fit the same,,all i know is ones from v40 and the others on my s40 ??

......the SM has the Melco1 fuel system and the earlier type of valve tappet that does do what it`s called and taps like hell now and again also the throttle is by an adjustable cable...

.....the SJ being later has the Melco2 fuel system and the later type tappets which do not make a noise and the throttle is fly by wire with a stepper motor on the throttle housing......

.........because of the differences it is not feasable to swop the engines.....
