I have just had my 1800S 1969 re-painted by a firm in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. There is nothing in it for me, but if you need some body work to be done on your Volvo, I can highly recommend that garage.

Seems like good job. Just out of curiosity, I presume you live in the UK so why have you not imported the car?

I do live in the UK , but also in Sweden. My Volvo is in the UK from November to April, when it is to much snow, ice and salt in it's home country. The Swedish insurance, which allows me to drive it here one year at the time, is also a bit cheaper.(less than £100/year)

I see. I should perhaps tell you that I too am Swedish albeit with mainly English family including wife. I lived in Reading and then Worcester for many years. Work took me to Belgium.

Where in Sweden are you from/is the car from? I'm from Stockholm.

My car was sold first time 1968 by Liljas Volvo in Kalmar. I have managed to get in contact with some of the previous owners and if you are interested you can read their stories in http://volvo1800pictures.com/sweden/index.html (in Swedish)
My and my car's Swedish home, when we are there, is in Järfälla outside Stockholm.

That does look like a superb job. Congrats, makes me want to get my spit done :(

Out of curiosity what was wrong with it previously, you can't see fromt eh before pic? Or was it rotten where you can't see it (problem I have with the spit).

Anyway congrats again, very nice looking car!

The main reason for re-painting it was that I wanted to see what was lurking under the old paint. We found rust holes in 2 places which had been filled with compound by a P.O. The compound was removed and metal pieces welded in instead. The old paint had cracks and wasn't shining so it was time for a re-spray anyway.

You're joking?! I grew up in Järfälla, in Viksjö more precisely. Left in the mid 90's for England. What makes you go back and forth?
