There is an article on the main page of this site about petrol stations still selling leaded fuel. The link to "The station nearest to you" does not work. Can anyone tell me if any such stations is located in West Sussex.
Thank you

Either Bayford have shut their web site or it is down. I will keep an eye on this. I know a lot of their outlets were ceasing to sell leaded, and I also heard the licence was due to run out.

I have not yet tried any of the additives such as ValveMaster for unleaded in my 1953 444, but it seems I may have to now.

I brought my 1800 69' over from Sweden last year. Back there I used unleaded 98 + an additive (can't remember the name), but isn't LRP what most people use for their old cars over here.....?

LRP causes premature wear in your engine, it is also being phased out with many stations already no longer selling it. Many 1800 and 120 owners here use ordinary unleaded with products such as ValveMaster. If your journey is short and not at sustained 'high' speeds then that should be OK.

In my 1500 Spit I use Millers CSV, it's a competition lead replacement, I drove for a number of years on this (all you could get in Holland was LRP, and it wasn't everywhere) and most of that was motorway driving including 4+ trips per year from Amserdam to Leicester and back doing approx 70-85mph most of the way as it's all motorways. They do a non competition version if you want less octane boost.

My nearest station wasn't so near after all so I have started to use unleaded with ValveMaster instead of LRP. The question know is if I shall stick to that or mix with leaded fuel when I come across stations selling it?

If your car is fitted with a catalyser you can ONLY use unleaded fuel.

All the best, Peter
