Sunday morning in northern Germany, start up car around 10 am and no power steering! B****r! Turns out me power steering bracket has snapped in two, which apparently does happen, well this was a bad time as I am due in England on Wednesday, and I have a train to catch in Calais at 1 pm (and by train I mean Eurotunnel); I also have loads of work Monda/Tuesday and a very bad cold! No, I am not doing this myself, so Monday morning take car into large local dealer and explain, if you cannot finish this by Tuesday evening, I will not give you the car but drive without PAS to England! They say "no problems" and even give me a quote of fairly reasonable 180 quid. Ok, come Tuesday evening, am on my way to Mechelen (where car is) to pick it up when mobile ringgs: "Sorry sir, car is not ready, at least another hours work!". So, even if I pick it up tomorrow at 9.30, I then need to go home to get the stuff I need to take to England and then drive to Calais, all-in-all some five hours, you do not need an A in maths to figure out that that will not work! And I told them specifically.... one Eurotunnel ticket lost, too much stuff to do in England so I booked another one! Please, can I sue someone, just anyone!!!

Badger the garage, you may get something off them as a goodwill gesture. Always works. If anything goes wrong with something I bought, I always get something out of it at the end!

Well, just picked my car up, and ok, it was 200 quid, took them 48 hours but they have done a good job. My power steering now works 100 per cent, gone are all the funny noises and the squelling and all that, so as usual, something good out of something bad!
