v40 rear tyre wear

I've gone through 2 rear tyres in 12 months, the inside inch of both tyres are worn very badly.

Any pointers/previous experiences with this.

Sounds like the rear wheel alignment (tracking) needs adjusting to bring the wear pattern back to normal. Being a front wheel drive car the rear wheels need tracking correctly as they are not driven just as in the case of 850s, S/V70s, S60s and S80s (not including AWD versions).
