Did you see the programme last night? one of the teams chopped a 240 up to get the engine out to be used in a flaming ball thrower.
It seemed such a shame to see an old car like this ending up butchered apart.
The one compensation was the team with the Volvo power won.

Yeah I saw it. Horrible. And it looked to be in good condition too. Why do people send such a car to the scrap yard?

cos they cost too much to repair. you will see loads of 400s in a scrappy, mint other than a dead clutch, but you will simply not be able to fix a clutch on one for less than the cost of a new 400, so why bother? you cant tell how that 240 was for rust (probably what killed it) and substancial rust is expensive to fix
