without braving the cold and getting the book out of the garage there are fuses and relays in the box under the bonnet and some more behind the trim over your feet in the offside footwell.
They are all clearly marked .
Good luck

No, the horn is fed from fuse 11A/4 which also feeds the Alarm and rear fog lights. It's value is 20 Amps and it is in the engine compartment fusebox.

There is a horn relay but it is for the alarm sounder.

If the Alarm and lights are working check the wiring to the horn as either a wire has been dislodged or the earth wire has become open circuit where it feeds to the horn buttons on the steering wheel, or the horn buttons have become unserviceable.

All the best, Peter.

My horn didnt work from when i got my V40 from a trader, the local dealer in Birmingham, Hearlands Motor Company (Bromford lane has far better service than city by the way), fixed it for £25 while they did the 150k service for me, the contacts in the steering wheel were at fault.

Trying not to thead hijack but the horn does still not sound when the alam goes off, any idea anyone ?

a lot of alarms on the v40 have a siren and does'nt use the horn for alarm
how do you know the alarm has gone of if it doesnt make any noise?
Check under the battery tray and if it got a siren thats where it will be
