I currently have two spot lights (with 55w bulbs) wired up on the front of my Land rover. Now because there were two holes (and I got them on ebay for 99p) I thought I'd slap on two more.................However

I Know bugger all about electrics.............so my question is....

Can I just taake a feed off the existing lights to the new ones........or do they have to be wired direct back to the battery via a relay ???

Cheers

The fuse for two lights of 55W is ample, if you wire two more to the same system, the fuse wont be big enough I would have thought, so a relay or separate line/fusing would be appropriate.

2 x 55W equates to just under ten amps.
4 x 55W equates to just under twenty amps.

Its not just the fuse and relay but also the wiring that will be overloaded if you simply add the additional lights, don't risk an electrical fire as such an event can write off a car very quickly - Mike
