Starting Problem.

Sometimes my 02 C70 starts but then cuts out again. This could happen 2 or 3 times but never cuts out while running. I am told that it a security check to confirm that the correct key has been used. I have sufferred it for 2 to 3 years but wonder if anyone else has experienced it

Search for information on the immobiliser aerial contacts, these can often be cured by disconnection and cleaning of the contacts or replacement of the offending item which is a ring around the ignition switch barrel. If its the part I suspect the car will fire up for about one second before the engine cuts out - Mike

I have had exactly the same problem since I got my 03 C70 a year and a half ago. Through trial and error, before I insert the ignition key, I press "Lock", then "Unlock", then insert ignition key, starts and keeps on running. Eventually I may have to do more but not yet.
