I'm looking at getting a new car for the family, and the XC90 is right up there in the list, but im having a hard time with brochures and most specifically the dimensions.
Comparing the v70 and xc90 the figures on paper of boot volume are 840 and 615 respectively(5 seat configuration).
But when you look at the rest of the dimensions it makes no sense.
V70 load space dimension
1089x801x1434(lxHxW) totals=1.1 cubic meters
the XC 90
1255x799x1455(lxHxW) Totals=1.4cubic meters
The figures on paper suggest for the most boot space get a V70 but the dimensions say otherwise!
I know they measure with solid blocks so its not as simple as totalling the dimensions due to internal fixtures etc, but that difference is totally contradictory, the v70 boot is much larger on paper but the dimensions suggest the XC90 is much larger, certainly with a considerably longer load area.
What are peoples real world experience? especially also compared to the discovery?
cheers
