Very few of these phase 1 cars were exported to the UK and here is a 69,000 mile example for breaking, which doesnt look too shabby.

The car is nothing to do with me but surely somebody would be interested in buying it complete and saving it...

Not sure if anyone else has bothered, but I wrote and asked if the car is still complete, and how much.

Awaiting an answer . . .

Cheers,

They want £350 for it, which is the 'scrap price'. Maybe £100 less crusher price would be near but if the car has paper work, it would be with it, especially if it is complete with reasonable bodywork.

Pre-catalyser 440 Turbos are virtually extinct now anyway. I would have it, had I not plumped for an F reg GLT.

If I lived in the UK I would be up there to buy it now.

haha, come over and get it. Further to my post above, my c*ap typing got in the way - if the car has some paperwork and the rear wheel arches are not too bad, then it would not be a bad car to get.

I just wish I had some space to save it :(

Yes, £350, they told me the same 'scrap money'

I asked if they still have all the paperwork, and checked with DVLA, who have it showing on a SORN until May 2012.

Arches look fine from what I can see, seats look like new, only real concern on the body looks to be the sill - but I don't think it's anything major.

Surely someone wants to save it. I'm struggling for space at the moment, so not sure I can take it either.

The breaker told me he has the V5, and so it's not been designated for the scrap pile as yet.

Surely someone needs a cheap solid car - with a littler work it could be something special given the rarity; and that seat trim - like new!!
