Tailgate open alarm

V70 Estate CD TDI The tailgate closes securely but the tailgate open alarm appears in the instrument panel and the boot light will not go out. Can anyone advise where I can find the contact switch to check it out please?

Also worth a try...

On the lock receiver catch on the boot floor, there is a plastic sleeve. It might be worth turning that sleeve through 90 degrees as it can get worn and - perhaps - cause a unlocked alarm.

But, Mike is much more likely to be right!

The switch cannot be replaced by itself, it's part of the lock. But a touch of WD40 can sometimes work wonders.

And, inevitably, you will need a replacement pack of panel clips (available from partforvolvos...http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/product_info.php?products_id=3137 )
