Hi there,
I have not been here for a while as nobody seemed to answer my somewhat simple questions which as a new owner of an Amazon were big questions to me. But I can help with your question ......there is a good resource on the members pages which you enter using password details from your latest "volvo Driver" it gives you additional information including a list of recommended garages from this SOLO AUTOMOTIVE - BRAINTREE HOUSE, BRAINTREE ROAD RUISLIP, MIDDLESEX HA4 0EJ 0208 842 1155 MARK or SAUN, seems close to you. The site is very useful just takes quite a bit of exploring.....hope you are enjoying your car! Patrick

Have had only one experience of them which for me personally was poor. But you could try them, I read an article about them which referred to their wide breath of knowledge and skill.

Hi
I would check the fuel filter first.
Its probably full of rust and will need replacing. Take it to halfords and find a similar sized one taking care of the size of the connections. A noisy fuel pump is a good tell tale. Put injector cleaner in the petrom and use the higher octane stuff. Be aware the new petrol additives tend to strip the rust flakes off the tank and cause the filter to plug up. Failing this take the injector rail apart and tap out any junk from the injectors.
Dont do this first as it is fiddly.
Be careful taking anything off the fuel system as it will be pressurised.

Theres Charlie Garrett in Oxford (distance wise further than South Service but probably easier to get to and very knowledgable.

Hi, have you still got your P1800e? I know it is a long time ago, but how did you sort your engine problem out? Regards, Brendan.

Have you tried checking/re-adjusting the contact breaker points and ignition timing?

I'm pretty sure Charlie is getting out of Volvos. He sells old motorbikes now. He was 3 minutes walk from my office when I lived there, so I went there all the time. Very very good with them though, so its a shame.
