Hi

I seem to recall there is a recommended parts supplier on here and for forum members a discount is available. I'm after a ns rear light cluster the bottom section and would be grateful if anyone can put me in touch with a decent supplier.

Ideally I want a 2nd hand unit to keep costs down. I've attached a photo of the damaged cluster (wifes fault & yes she is blonde) but I'm unsure as to when people say there car is 2005 year they then say my2005 or 6.

What does the MY refer to and how do I go about finding the my for my wifes car - aka "the stunt driver".

thanks

I can't help with a supplier but I believe MY stands for Manufacture Year.
So if you have a car with a 04 registration plate then the MY will be MY04

Pretty obvious when you put it like that. Thanks Ed

Search for FRF (Rufe) on here, he can supply you the part with a discount.
Best to have the vehicle VIN or registration handy to make sure you get the right one.
You have the round indicator/reverse lights so is a pre-facelift model (pre 2006)

Yep, took me some time to realise what people were talking about, then the penny dropped.

To make it more complicated.... not exactly :)

In Volvo terms a new model Year starts somewhere September of the previous year, so a car built in May of 2006 is a 2006 MY, but a car built October 2006 is a 2007 MY...
Hope I still make sense....

Yep - I thought it was Model Year ? Mine is technically a 54 plate first registered on the 30/9/2004 - but is a 2005 Model spec. So in these terms is a 54 plate MY05. Not quite sure how that works with the manufacturing lead time as I had to wait 18 weeks for it iirc. But it's definitely subtly different to the previous MY (tailgate badges moved/I think the interior lights are daylight sensetive and possibly the auto door lock function became available).
So that probably didn't help much..........

Hello,

I am glad to hear you were looked after while I was away! (Not technically on holiday, but away from the dealership for a week and a bit).

Looking at the prices mentioned above, we worked out cheaper than a second hand part from eBay. Not the first time I have seen this, by far, so it does pay to always check with us for a price first!

For any future price enquiries simply call us on either of our direct telephone numbers: 01792 790066 or 01792 784272, and please mention discount code 'C3' when calling us so we know you are an online customer!

Many thanks once again, and thanks to Ron and to Rob for the recommendation.

Simon :)
