Hi all, me again,

Had the down pipe replaced, and i dont know if this is because of it, but when i reverse up a steepish hill, it sounds as though the exhaust is blowing, altough the sound is not evident when driving normaly up the same gradient, any suggestions before i wade into the garrage and kick ass?

the only thing that comes to my mind is that perhaps the downpipe/cat joint is spreading with the reverse torque on the drive shafts, I.E could the springs that the garrage put back on be too week?

as always any input would be appreciated.

There is a flexy joint that allows for engine movement. Either the gasket is shot (they reused the old one or something). Or you have an engine mount gone/on the way out.

The rear mount design on my '93 440 Turbo's is crap, reverse hard and it will rip the rubber apart. I was in a bad mood one day and let the turbo come on boost in reverse (it goes backward very quick!) and did just that.
