View Full Version : 480 Fuel Gauge / Info Centre Failure

I have just bought a 1992 480 Turbo. The car is in decent order and everything worked for the first week.

I then decided to install a CD player and as a result or coincidence the info centre has now died so I have no information and more importantly no fuel gauge information.
The backing light works, all fuses seem ok and I have checked under the glove box at some other pronged fuse that looks ok.

Is the radio at all linked into other electrics ??

Any ideas of where to look as it was all working perfectly and I don't know what to do.

Thanks hopefully I can help in later posts as this is my first.

Hi,

Welcome to the world of 480 owners.

On my car (1990 Turbo) the radio, clock and info center are controled by the same fuse ( No. 1 @ 15 amp), I don't know if this information will help but is seems an awful coincidence for failure to occur when you have just fitted a CD player.

Save up and buy the genuine Volvo manual as the Haynes version is less than helpful.
