Volvo 480ES Alarm

A friend has got a 480es and it is doing all sorts of weird and wonderful things.
The horn sounds at all hours, Lights come on of their own accord.
It sounds as if the factory fitted alarm is playing up. Has anyone else experienced problems with the alarm?
Where is the alarm located? Is it easy to by-pass?

Hi kjbpoole,

This is the proverbial hornets nest. The 480 suffers a lot of electrical problems that you will see all over this site and more of it on the 480 Europe site.

It is very likely that your friend has a problem with an earth lead somewhere but it will need further investigation.

Go and look through www.volvo-480-europe.org in the first instance.
