hello :P

I know the seat belts are only designed for one person at a time but i need to be able to fit two people into the passenger seat :o and secure the correctly. don't worry this won't be a long term thing, after 7 months one of them will move to a baby seat in the back.

Do you know of a device or anything that makes the seat belts longer to help fit round pregnant woman.

cheers

hey mate,
just going off memory but arent you meant to not use the bottom strap of the seat belt when your pregnant (e.g. its resting against the bump as such) - cos in an accident youll get tension over this area - check your handbook - maybe im wrong - cant say that when my g/f was pregnant 2 months ago in the 440 we had a problem but she wasnt exactly huge (even at 9 months!).

hths a bit.

matt.

My wife was huge with the first one (on number three now... help!!) we are talking over 130 kg/260 lbs and a baby boy of 5 kg/10 lbs and that is what she did in our old 460.

That and the fact that my brother-in-law ran the 460 into a stationary truck at 50 mph, the 460 was junk but my brother-in-law broke his nose, that is all. Had the 740 diesel for a year, then sold that to my sister-in-law (but I still maintain it) and got the 940 LPT, superb car! The 940 SE is going, getting an old Mercedes 380 SE instead which I will do up and sell to fund my dream, a XJ6!

Sounds good - so the stationary truck was written off then ;)

They truck did not have one single bit of damage to it, not one bit. Mind you, if the bar that he ran into had been painted then they would have needed to repaint it but I have never seen anything like it. The 460 was junk, completely.

i guess it all comes down to weight though at the end of the day, if yovue got a light object hitting a heavy object at quite a force (50mph!) - the light objects going to come off worse unfortunantly :(

i know people say the 400s are built shoddly (and i agree for the loan 480 im driving about - although it aint been looked after (170k on clock)) - my facelifted 94 is sturdy as a rock - although the parents saab seems like even more of a tank (think again its a weight factor though - saab 93 - air con etc.. and its a lot longer than the 440, twin cam 2litre engine etc.. all contributes i guess. Fuels the best one though at only approx 20mpg on motorway! Whilst i manage quite a nice 33/34mpg

Matt / george

Thanks for your comments.

I'm just trying to plan ahead here to stop any possible issues should my wife get that big.

I haven't looked at the manual yet to see what they say so i'll have a squint tonight.

Cheers :-)
