At crawling pace in traffic, going on and off the throttle something has felt a bit loose the past couple of weeks. Turned out to be the top engine/torque mount so I replaced it and the two smaller ones either end of the torque bar this morning.

Here's a pic of the new ones.

This is the old one, click on the pic to watch the video and see just how worn it is.

Nice, satisfying and easy job this.

Did the same on my previous V70 and it made a huuuge difference!

Excessive vibration through the cabin at idle usually.

Lower torque mount produces the same symptons as the top mount, but the vibration is more pronounced.

I'm getting pretty noticeable vibration in the cabin at around 1800 rpm (doors buzz, etc), which is a fairly recent phenomenon.

Had it into the local Volvo indie who can't pinpoint exactly what's wrong (without starting to change things with little more than guesswork). They recommend driving it and letting it get worse/more noticeable.

Would the top engine mount cause this? If it's not too expensive, might take a punt on it. I guess when you take the torque bar off you can see if the mount is worn??

The centre part of the bush is meant to move like that , it isnt attached to the housing , it acts as a buffer , this isnt an engine mounting , it has 2 of those underneath and a third rubber block near the crank pully to steady the engine .. also those end mounts for the beam are meant to swivel when you twist the beam .. I assume you get no vibrations now ? If you changed the lower one under the gearbox that would have the most effect .
