I'm considering buying a new V70 (D5 SE) but have heard rumours that a new V70 is to be launched within the next 12 months or so although the dealer I spoke to claims to know nothing about this.

Anyone know if this is true and if so when the new model is due to be launched and what the model lineup and pricing is likely to look like (for the UK) ?

I believe the current V70 is based on the S80 platform which is obvilously being replaced this year. Also the residuals for the current V70 have dropped noticeably in the calculations used by my company car scheme which could well be indicative of a new model in the pipeline.

Anyone know for sure ?

I've heard the possibility of the S80 developing into an estate - V80 aka new V70??

Last I heard is that the V70 and S60 will be out similar time - early/mid 2007.

A V90 will be spawned off the S80 - primarily for the US market.

Speaking of new models coming out, a colleague claimed that top gear reviewed a Volvo S55R with a 6 litre engine. I was slightly sceptical :) Has anyone heard of this or whatever he might have misunderstood?

Last Swedish thing TG reviewed was a Koeningsegg....

By the way, Bob, shouldn't the S80 estate be a V90? :biggrin2:
