I have found myself a 245 !
Its a 1988 2.0, in gunmetal grey, with GLT alloys. I'm going to pick it up this afternoon from the middle of nowhere near Cross Hands.
We've got a Peugeot Partner on Motability at the moment, and its going back to them because it is a typical bland eurobox, and to be frank is bl**dy awful...I can't wait to get behind the wheel of a real car again. If my wife likes the way that it drives, I'll be looking out for another one for her to replace my VW T25 van, which is also a great car to drive, but I find it awkward to drive in traffic due to the lack of side windows.
I just thought I'd share my excitement with you.
(This is probably quite sad coming from a 52 year old, but I don't care)

Hi, Congratulations on getting a nice 245. It will be easier to park than either the VW van or the Partner. BTW a forum member is breaking a 245 and he will be at the National BKV in June if your new car needs any bits.

Thanks Ivor,
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to BKV, but the good news is that my wife has just taken the Volvo for a drive, loves it and wants one for herself. As soon as I've got my gear out of storage the VW will be sold and I'll be in the market for another 245.
As far as parts, I am going to need a dog guard, and maybe a new drivers seat, unless its just the loose bolt problem!

Ebay for dog guards, for sure. Never less than 5 on there at any one time.

That was probably true until I bought my car, now out of the 1300 or so on e-bay, there's not a one for a 245.
I'll check the local papers...

Glad you like your 245. You got the correct wheel drive too!
