Can anyone advise me, authoritively, as to whether or not Amazons ever were fitted with rear disc brakes? I need to know if rear disc braked Amazons were ever produced by the factory since that might justify their acceptability for classic car rallies.
I know the P1800s had rear discs, but thought that the 120/130 Amazons never did.......that was until I read two articles in the "Volvo 120 Amazon Ultimate Portfolio" book which clearly refers to an Australian road test car and, separately, a South African road test car with disc brakes at the rear. Add to this the diagram of rear brake calipers in a Haynes-type Volvo owners/workshop DIY manual and it has set me thinking!
Any/all contributions will be welcomed - I need to know!
Thanks
Paul
