V50, 2006, 1.6D turbo intake dents

Hello all. I'm a new V50, 2006, 1.6D owner and have had this car for three days now! Yesterday I noticed that the turbo intake(?) pipe has some big dents. First I thought "Oh god this car has been in a crash" but then I noticed it looks like this has beed done on purpose? It looks like this pipe has been "squeezed" with something. Does anyone know why? they have tried to change airflow for some reason? My friend has a newer version of this car, and his pipe has a smaller diameter.

No thats fine that is how it is formed to give clearance for the engine to move on it's mounts . there are quite a few different versions of this pipe as the years went by !
