DIY DPF Replacement- is it possible?

I'm currently experiencing a problem whereby the oil level is rising in the sump- by about 1/4" in around 5000 miles. The cars done 146k miles and I have been advised it's probably time to have the DPF replaced (should be done every 70k miles according to dealer). Does anyone know if it's a job that I could do myself, of would the ECU need resetting afterwards? (It's a 2008 1.6d)
