Hi folks,

Would appreciate some advice I have a 2006 C70 and have found the PCV hose was cracked upon touching it it fell to bits in my hands or at least the ribbed section did. Couple of questions regarding this,

Can you replace this hose on its own and what is approx cost for part?

Being normally aspirated can I drive the car until this is fixed low revs to keep pressure down.

thanks in advance for any assistance offered.

Can you describe where the hose connects to/ from, is it the one out of the top of the cylinder head or somewhere else - There are more than one PCV hose in the system - Mike

Hi Mike,

the hose in question comes from the oil filter housing in behind the inlet manifold and up on to the top of the cylinder head.

You can drive the car with that broken but you might encounter reduced engine performance as the inlet can suck fresh air in via the break in the hose that hasn't been measured by the mass air flow sensor.

Bargain on about £50 for a replacement hose, you will also need to replace the inlet manifold gasket unless you think you can work on the PCV tank connection with the inlet still in place (I would simply pull the inlet manifold for decent access as it makes the job easier) - Mike

Get it from the dealer as it is specially shaped to tit the engine without kinking - Mike
