Hi all,
New to the forum. I have a 2004 S40 SE 1.8 manual petrol. It grinds and crunches when you select reverse.
It only goes in if you really yank and ram it in. The reverse is below 5th.
The rest of the gears are sweet and the clutch is fine.
I read the other posts regards worn bushes on the linkage and ordered a kit that apparently fits my model. But when i climbed under the car i couldn't find any linkage apparent.
I removed the cover in the cockpit and looked at the gearstick it self and It appear as though the gearbox is cables or hydraulic?? I know nothing about gearboxes, can anyone shed any light on what it might be?
I take it this model doesn't have bushes/linkage on the under side?
