Hello, I'm interested in modifying my amazon 122. I would like to find a garage, preferably in southern England, that could help with converting to a v8 or similar and the necessary strengthening. I'm also interested in slight bodywork, respraying and rechroming. Any help welcome!

Please let us know how you get on, I for one have considered a V8 conversion in the past and understand that the Rover is a popular choice in Scandanavia. Not sure that much bodywork modification is necessary as the engine bay is pretty wide. Apparently as long as the engine isn't too hot you can even use the standard gearbox, I guess an overdrive (J type for strength) and high ratio axle might be a good idea to help economy though.

I guess you would do best to ring around the usual 120 series specialists first and see what they say.

Have you had any luck on your V8 conversion? If you are serious I can put you in touch with a couple of firms who specialize in this type of conversion. I would also like to point out can obtain very high power outputs from a B20. I would only go V8 for drag strip use, if that is what you intend then use a chevey sb. let us know how you get on.

I don't know if he deals in this type of work or not, but try Charlwood Restorations in Surrey, they're Volvo specialists and I see all sorts of Volvo's there - if they don't / cant do the work, I'm sure they will know someone who can.

Peter Suchy is the guy to talk to there, very helpful.
