Hey, I've been quoted 800-850 for the above work to be done. Seems a little expensive to me?

Can anyone link me to vida for a how to on doing the work? I'm a competent diyer but would like to make my own mind up on if I'm happy to do it myself versus paying to have it done.

Thanks

That is right you know. Got mine done in 2013 for just over £800 with DMF, slave cylinder, bolts, clutch plate and gearbox oil change. Had it done by an Indy as I have a complete mistrust of main dealerships.

Yeah it's an Indy quote aswell. Don't feel so bad now then lol!

How long did they have the car? Just a day?

Took about 3-4 hours in all. They lent me a Ford Ka of tiny engine size to go home and then pick up later. Got in to come home and kept stalling it as it was so different. Amateur!

If you are in Leicester why not contact Tim Williams he is very good and not expensive either.

Tim Williams is a mechanic who specializes in volvos he can usually be found on T5D5 and has a unit in Markfield. I use him for bigger jobs on my car and I know people who travel from all over to get him to work on their car. Some regularly from Scotland and at least one from Europe. What he doesn't know about volvos isn't worth knowing and his prices are very reasonable. He also maps P1's. I can pm you his number of you wish to speak to him.

Nah not yet. Going for its mot in 2 weeks so get that done first. I'm not so sure it needs a DMF now either as its possibly a front bearing, but will wait and see what's what from the mot.

I just had mine recently done at an Indy that I've used for years, £600 all in... couldn't complain at that when I was getting quotes of between £800 - 1200!!
