Which Fuel Filter V50 1.6d

I have a 2008 V50 1.6 Diesel

OK, so order a fuel filter from my local Volvo Supplier and they sent me this.

So taking a look under the bonnet in top right corner of engine and just to left of battery, I see what I think is the fuel filter and it actually looks like

How can there be 2 completely different parts for the same car ?
Searching the web and a lot of suppliers have both but says nothing of the difference.

No 1 is for early models without fuel heater , up to chassis number 177503 Filter 2 is for later ones with fuel heater .After chassis Number 177504

simple realy for any parts guy to differentiate !

Couldn't be sure which was the chassis number as all the numbers I could find were much longer.
Therefore gave supplier my reg and model details

Since which I have worked out what it is (407235)


Thanks for the confirmation, will now go back to supplier and get correct part
