On my v50 I have a new symbol on my infotainment screen which I cannot work out what it means.I have looked in all manuals but cannot find. It looks like a doughnut with jagged outer edge and is showing behind/next to the fan symbol. Anyone knows what it is or knows how to clear it please?

From you description could it be this ?

if no may be a picture would help identify it.

Donut fan failure? :). I think a photo will be needed.

Sounds like a gearbox error light. Does it look like this:

ETA - just realised you said the infotainment screen. Very odd. Any chance of a photo?

The symbols used are within an international standard which amzing I posted about on the XC60 Forum :)

...

They just need to choose from this list of symbols ISO 7000 (https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:pub:PUB400001:en) :)

Have a look there, it may help you identify the symbol and perhaps which system it is referring to as manufacturers are not free to decide what they want each one to mean.
