Hi All,

New to the Volvo world here! First time I'm intending to do a service on my T5 V50 2004 and am being offered 2 types of air filter - Standard & Active Carbon. There's only a couple of quid in the price difference (but it is a good 50% more expensive for the carbon).

Is it worth this upgrade or is it a con?

Thanks for your words of wisdom in advance, :star:

Yes, activated carbon filters are significantly more effective and worth the money.

It is not only a case of 'is it worth it' it is a case of if you have IAQS (Air Quality Service) then the carbon filter is a MUST!

AIQS which is fitted to all V50's with climate needs the carbon filter to work properly. The carbon filter will block more and block more bad smells too than the plain filter too.

Yes it is worth the extra.
