Just off the phone to Volvo looking for rear wheel bearings for a 2006 2.0d S40. £211 each. That's a serious amount of cash. Does anybody know what the equivalent ford part number is??

Thanks

None genuine wheel bearings (rear hub unit about £80) work fine, quite easy to fit yourself.

I don't know the Ford part number but the garage that replaced mine identified the part to be identical to a Focus ST rear hub and when they check with Ford, Ford charge £90 for the same OEM part.

Hope that helps.

I just replaced my rear with a SKF wheel bearing costing £85. Ive been told to stay away from continental bearings though

Thanks folks picked some up today. Any tips for doing the job, had a quick look today access to the hub bolt looks a bit tight.

As I remember the rear hub bolt was a torq 55 I think which required a long extension on my T bar. Took about 1 hour per side.

I grinder mine off as my torq boots were rusted and rounded off. Was a mega pain! Hope your bolts are clean. Get the jet wash in amoungst the bolts a day or two before you try and let some wd soak in
