My 1.8 V50 (55 plate) is currently at the dealers for a noise when driving away from cold. The noise occurs either when changing from first to second at around 1500 rpm or driving in first at around 2200 rpm. The noise comes from the clutch/transmission and is a once only slight metallic knock, as if something is springing back into place.
Once driven it will be fine until the car is left to stand for a couple of hours when it will happen again. The dealers couldn't find anything but I have a 1.6 courtesy car which has made the same noise once.
The dealers are baffled and have ordered another engine mount from Sweden, I think more in desperation as this is it's second visit under warranty. Any ideas would be welcome!

Managed to get to the bottom of this by talking to the engineers who designed the ABS system. The light on the cluster shows the ABS electrical circuitry is working correctly.
When the car is driven there is a second self check at 22 kph as the wheels are turning, the system pressurises and this is when the 'click' sound is heard. Evidently this is a characteristic of the Teves ABS system.
