Spicer axle support arm bushings

[65 Canadian]

Hello fellow Volvo friends.
I'm new to the Volvo community,and to this forum.
I recently purchased a 1965 Volvo Canadian 122s.
It,s essentially a 1965 amazon.
I am restoring the entire chassis and braking system.
So far everything has been going smoothly,with the exception of one thing.
I,m having a difficult time with the spicer axle support arm bushing.
The bushing itself wont seat properly when i tighten the clamp nuts.
When the bushing compresses there seems to be too much material preventing the arm from clamping down properly.
And as there was no bushing left when i removed the arms.
i'm not sure if the bushing orientation itself is correct.
By that I mean which side of the bushing faces the brake drum.
I can't seem to find any literature on these bushing.
Or a proper installation procedure for them.
Any help that someone can provide me with would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure the bushes you have are the spicer version rather than the ENV type?

as far as I can tell, it is the correct bushing.
See attachment.
If I'm correct.
The beveled side of the bushing faces the the brake drum.
Why it won't compress properly remains a mystery.
Its almost as though I need to trim a little off.
Which can't be correct.

In this case Derek's link does show two different styles of bushings listed and so is probably more helpful in clearing up you question, but be aware that often, having a look at the exploded assembly diagram (and associated parts list) under gcp.se can be quite helpful...see: https://weblisher.textalk.se/gcp/20160201-027/

Thanks for all the help guys.
I'm a rookie to the Volvo community.
And made the mistake of not realizing that it is in fact the ENV type.
Most of my experience is with north american muscle cars.
So I'm very much in the learning curve, when it comes to this long sought after 1965 Volvo Canadian.
