A newbie here!

Father-in-law has just bought a S40, it currently has a Nokia handsfree kit installed. See pic attached

I am used to messing with car kits etc, but not sure on how to remove the required parts of the dash.

Anyone got any tips

Steve

Hi,

This might help:

Seriously though, I am not sure you will want to go playing with the wiring as this can become complex, and lead to undesireable results.
The mounting unit is likely screwed into position and will leave holes when removed. I would find the cost of replacement trim before proceeding.

No its a dashmount, no-holes bracket, so there wont be any damage when it is removed

how much do you want for it if you are selling it?

Hi,

Your main connections will be power and those to the stereo to mute the sound and route the speaker and mic.

Likely they will have been clipped onto the wires so you'll see those blue plastic clip-on jobs.
But you'll need to access the stereo - slide it out have see what is there.
Trace the path of the other wiring to remove delicately and seal up cable breaks/connections with masking tape..

Or buy a Nokia phone... (Rummaging round my draws - finds a 6210!!)
