How much fuel left when the light comes on?

Does anyone know how many litres of fuel are left in the tank when the Low Fuel warning light comes on?

Around 10 liters in my D3. You should be good for another 100 kilometers for sure.

On my S40 2012 right after the Low Fuel goes on, I can fill up to 45L until tank is full. Given that total tank capacity is 55L, I think that the light goes on when there is about 10L remaining.

Funnily enough, my fuel light lit up literally 100meters before me entering petrol station last week :) I filled up exactly 49liters and my AWD tank is 54liters iirc so u do the math.
I still think every car is different and light wont behave the same on any car, its all calculated&predicted so I wouldnt put my life on it..

What does the book say the reserve is?

Thanks all, sounds about right - approx 8 to 10 ltrs.

I'm working out a dosage rate for some Millers Eco Max additive, it's only 1:1000 but need to get it about right.
