Hello and thank you for reading this message, and Season's Greetings!

My car is a V50 2006.

Has anyone had a faulty indicator stem and knows what the solution is? My right turn indicator stays on after turning the steering wheel straight. I have to touch the indicator down slightly (towards activating left turn indicator) to switch it off.

Is this a common fault on a car this old, is a new indicator stem needed, and is this easy to change?

Thank you.

Straightforward process to replace stem. From other threads and my change just now:

1) Remove key from ignition.
2) If you like, disconnect battery as can prevent air bag from going off if there is an accidental knock on the steering wheel.
3) Move steering wheel out as far as it will go.
4) Remove three torx screws from underside of steering wheel cover.
5) Unclip two halves of the steering wheel cover. See attached photos of clips when separated. Is necessary to push at sides top section to separate little clip, then push front top section immediately behind wheel to separate big clip.
6) Adjust or remove two sections of steering wheel cover to access the two screws holding in the stem. Undue the two screws. Slide out stem. Slide in new stem.
7) Refit parts in reverse order as above.
