My daughter had the steering rack replaced by local garage, in order to fix a fluid leak.
Following repair the power steering is working but feels notchy/initially stiff when wheel is moved from straight ahead position. Car is also showing 'Stability Control temporarily unavailable'.
Garage has check fault codes and system shows following 4 faults:
Antilock brakes
0109 Coms between control modules. Steering Wheel Module (SWM), internal fault.
0106 Steering Wheel, wheel alignment. Incorrect steering wheel or wheel alignment.
0115 Communication between control module. Communication with steering wheel module (SWM), signal missing.
Electronic Power Steering Module
0080 Steering Wheel angle sensor. Faulty signal.

Garage seem to have run out of ideas!

Have checked for obvious things like loose connectors without any joy. Alternative seems to be that garage have somehow damaged the steering angle sensor while fitting the rack. Have read somewhere that if the sensor is replaced, vehicle has to be taken to Volvo dealer for sensor to be calibrated. Can anybody shed any light on what might be happening and if replacing the
rack might have upset the sensor calibration?
